I watched Jon Stewart's latest appearance on The O'Reilly Factor today, and O'Reilly referenced Charleston, South Carolina, as a place where Stewart would have to fear, basically, for the safety of his liberal ass. Having lived in Charleston for a few years now, I can say that just doesn't sound right (okay, maybe a few areas after dark in North Chuck, and IOP/Sullivan's Island in broad daylight). I'd also like to point out that Charleston County voted Democratic almost entirely across the board in 2008. The dandy Lindsey Graham and county coroner (obviously a partisan position) were the two exceptions to the trend.
