I haven't read Warren Ellis' RED, but now I must. Those of you familiar with Warren Ellis already read his blog, but if you aren't a fan, this pretty much sums things up:

Also, did you see the goddamn cast list that’s signed on for those characters? Bruce Willis as Moses, yes. But also: Morgan Freeman, Mary-Louise Parker, John C Reilly, Helen Mirren, Julian McMahon, Brian Cox, Ernest Borgnine and Richard Dreyfus. It reminds me a bit of those 70s films like THE TOWERING INFERNO, that had in them everyone you wanted to see in a film, all at once. RED is a bit like that, only with more automatic weapons.

An Avatar review, from the same guy who did the 70 minute Phantom Menace dissertation.

I just saw Avatar in 3D IMAX, and let me be the first here to say holy shit! It's the second movie I saw in the theater this year, and it was totally worth the price and inconvenience ($14 and a packed theater, in my case). To echo what I read somewhere else, the story is basically Dances With Wolves in space--and who doesn't like that movie? Seriously, the plot and pacing are nice, and aside from the rum and liter of Diet Pepsi in my belly, it really did not feel like nearly 3 hours (this ain't no Titanic). The visual effects are amazing and immersive. Gorgeous, I'd say. Plus there's a part chicken sex, part tentacle rape scene! (You'll know it when you see it.) I give it two curmudgeon thumbs up.

I can't wait for the movie.

The Fall is the new movie from Tarsem Singh the Director of The Cell. While the Cell was lacking in the story department, this movie looks like they matched up the hyper-real look of his art direction with a really fun tale.

The new Harold and Kumar trailer looks pretty hilarious.
