Posted Mon, 11/26/2007 - 10:21 by bobThis is a ride report I posted on Bikeforums from my 200k ride this weekend. It's long, and written for cyclists. It's sad, so I'm warning you in advance...
There must be something therapeutic about sharing experiences after your first major long distance accomplishment. Here's mine:
After a few long tandem rally rides and MS 150s with my wife, I got the bug to try long distance riding solo. I finished my first supported century this summer with the club and set my sights on the next distance goal. I like the idea of riding unsupported and so decided to sign up for the last 200k Brevet event in my area, the Turkey Trot 200k Brevet out of Brentwood TN. I figured it would be a good training experience and give me an idea of if I would be able to handle the full spring brevet series next year.

Asking for some coin, we're riding a LONG way for MS
Posted Sat, 09/22/2007 - 14:38 by bobSo it's that time again. Candace and I are riding another MS 150, and we're asking for pledges. This year they canceled the East Tennessee ride, so we're riding the "Bike to Jack and Back" in middle TN. Ride goes from Franklin to Lynchburg, then back again the next day. It's 150 miles total, 75 miles each day and yes, the final destination is the Jack Daniels Distillery :). The ride is Oct 6-7, we're cutting it a little close on raising funds this year, so don't be slackers and please throw down some pledge money, $5, $10, $20, whatever you can! Donations can be made directly online with major credit cards via our personal fund raising pages:
Thanks guys! It really means a lot to us!

It's got a basket, a bell that rings and things to make it look good
I'd give it to you if I could, but I borrowed it
