How long until they turn on us? When Falwell loudly attributed natural disasters as the punishment of the gods for our sinful ways, why is it that he was not publicly denounced as a madman? Why was he allowed to ever speak publicly again? How can a man who claims to speak for the god of long-dead nomadic jews be seen as anything but insane and in need of confinement? Instead, we allow him and his kind to shape our nations.

How long before we lose what thin veneer of civilization we have, not due to accident nor disaster, but because the masses consciously prefer to live as beasts? We give them long lives and prosperity, but they would still live in the dark, howling at shadows. How long before they demand human sacrifice to silence the earthquakes and the storms?

We build a machine, the Large Hadron Collider, to study the very nature of reality, existence at its most fundamental. Who knows what mysteries and wonders would be revealed?

But they don't understand, and instead of curiosity, wonder, or pride at mankind's achievements, they react with fear and hate. They threaten to kill us.

We have given them everything, and in return they wish us dead.

There was never any threat of danger. Thanks to Hawking and others, the mechanics of black/white holes are well understood. There was never any risk. We knew exactly what not to do.

But this...this is too much. War looms yet again in Europe, every nation is governed by rabid, slathering apes, and we who would elevate mankind to something better are to be killed for our efforts.

The council at CERN has met, and the issue has been discussed at length. We have given them electricity, medicine...we've made magic real - man can fly faster than birds and swim deeper than dolphins. And for what? More cruelty, more barbarism.

So CERN has decided - we will give them exactly what they expect and deserve. We'll unmake the world. From a point of space inconceivably small, a new universe will unfold, one that will swallow everything. It is our hope that what comes next will be more rational, more sane. Surely it could be no worse.

Mankind has judged its best and brightest, and ruled them worthy of death. That punishment will be passed on to all mankind, and to the very universe that made our wretched nature possible. It is time to begin anew.
