By comparison, Representative Ron Paul of Texas, whose libertarian, antiwar Republican candidacy has gained a passionate following on the Web, raised $5.2 million and had $5.4 million left for the primaries and no debt.

Who woulda thought?
That anti-war and anti-tax would be so popular? The guy is running literally against death and taxes. It's like running on the anti-pedophelia position or the anti-puppy-kicking position. I don't understand how he isn't the number one candidate of all time.
Why not #1?
Because the less-than-rich want to keep the Dept of Ed and the rich want to keep the Fed?
Not that he could in reality abolish either... Aside from the rather extreme positions of his capital-L Libertarianism, I think I could support the guy. His outspoken opposition to the Dept of Homeland Security and other totalitarian aspects of the current regime is what really appeals to me. If by some fucking miracle he gets the nomination, I'll probably vote for him over any of the Democrat drones.
